INTEGRATION

Claude Code

Claude Code uses the Anthropic Messages protocol. The BobRouter helper defaults to claude-sonnet-4-6, stays fail-closed, and configures the Anthropic-compatible endpoint at the root URL. This path is now documented and helper-published; full client verification is still in progress.

Compatibility: ExperimentalDefault model: claude-sonnet-4-6Reviewed 2026-08-16

Requirements

  • Claude Code 2.1.233 or a separately revalidated version
  • PowerShell 7 for the Windows helper
  • Explicit authorization before a potentially billable probe

Install

Select your operating system and run the one-line installer. The installer verifies the helper, then shows Install, Rollback, Uninstall, Status, and Exit.

BashRun this terminal command.
CODE
bash <(curl -fsSL https://bobrouter.com/downloads/integrations/claude-code/install.sh)

Command explanations

  • curl -fLO downloads the script and fails on HTTP errors.
  • sha256sum lets you compare the downloaded file with the published SHA-256 manifest.
  • chmod 700 makes the local helper executable only by your user.
  • dry-run previews the settings change and writes no configuration.
  • probe checks the model catalog and Anthropic Messages contract; it may be billable.
  • apply backs up settings and writes only BobRouter-managed routing values.
  • run launches Claude Code with the API key scoped to that child process.
  • rollback restores the exact pre-apply backup after checking for conflicting changes.
  • uninstall removes only BobRouter-managed settings.

Verify

Dry-run is local-only. Do not apply or run until an authorized Messages probe returns the expected schema and the installed Claude Code client is tested end to end.

Roll back

Use the helper's rollback action and the backup path printed during apply. Rollback refuses unrelated or conflicting changes where the helper supports conflict detection.

Uninstall

Use the helper's uninstall action to remove only BobRouter-managed settings. Keep unrelated client configuration unchanged.
