PREREQUISITE
Install Node.js
Node.js and npm are required by most BobRouter command-line integrations. Install the current Node.js LTS release before continuing to a tool-specific guide.
Linux / macOS
Install Node.js LTS with your platform package manager, then open a new terminal.
Ubuntu / Debian
curl -fsSL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_lts.x | sudo -E bash -
sudo apt-get install -y nodejsCentOS / RHEL
curl -fsSL https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup_lts.x | sudo bash -
sudo yum install -y nodejsmacOS with Homebrew
brew install nodeThese commands install the current Node.js LTS release from NodeSource (Linux) or Homebrew (macOS). If an integration requires a different version, visit the official Node.js download page.
Windows: install Chocolatey, then Node.js
Chocolatey provides a consistent package-manager workflow for Node.js and many CLI prerequisites.
1. Open an elevated terminal
Search for PowerShell, right-click it, and choose Run PowerShell as Administrator.
2. Install Chocolatey
Review the official command at chocolatey.org/install, then run:
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force
[System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol -bor 3072
iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('https://community.chocolatey.org/install.ps1'))3. Reopen PowerShell and verify Chocolatey
Close and reopen PowerShell as Administrator so the updated PATH is available.
choco --version4. Install Node.js LTS
choco install nodejs-lts -y5. Reopen the terminal
Close and reopen PowerShell once more before verifying Node.js and npm.
Verify the installation
Both commands must return version numbers.
node --version
npm --versionIf either command is not recognized, close all terminal windows, open a new one, and retry. Then continue to the integration guide you want to use.
Next step
Node.js is now ready. Continue with Quickstart or choose a CLI integration from the documentation navigation.
